Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Yuyap, a speaking-first language-learning service operated by IDK Studios, Inc. By using Yuyap, you agree to them. You must be at least 13 years old to use the service, or at least 16 in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area unless the country you are in has set a lower age for digital consent, and old enough to form a binding contract.

The service

Yuyap walks you through pre-written, verified conversations you speak out loud, with pronunciation feedback, on the web and in our iPhone and Android apps. Your first scene is free; the rest of the course requires a subscription. Talk, a live spoken conversation with an AI partner, comes with Yuyap Pro, with a short free taste each day for signed-in accounts. We may improve, change, or add to the service over time.

Your account

You can start as a guest, then save your progress with your email, a Google account or, in the iPhone app, Sign in with Apple. You're responsible for activity under your account. Keep your sign-in secure.

Plans

• Monthly and Annual unlock the same full course; they differ only in how often you are billed.
• Yuyap Pro adds Talk, up to 20 hours of conversation a month.
• Every plan is an auto-renewing subscription: it renews at the end of each billing period, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. Some plans start with a free trial; unless you cancel before the trial ends, the paid subscription begins and you are charged when it ends.

Buying on the web

• Web subscriptions are billed by Stripe and start with a 7-day free trialthat requires a card. We'll remind you before it ends.
• Unless you cancel during the trial, your plan begins and your card is charged when the 7-day trial ends: $9.99 / month or $72 / year (prices in USD).

Buying in the iPhone or Android app

• In the iPhone app, subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through your Apple Account; in the Android app, by Google Play through your Google account. The price, the billing period and any free trial are shown in the store sheet before you confirm.
• The store renews your subscription automatically. To stop it, turn off auto-renewal or cancel in the store's subscription settings: on iPhone, Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions (Apple asks for this at least 24 hours before the renewal date); on Android, the Play Store, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Deleting the app or your Yuyap account does not cancel it.
• Refunds for store purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.
• For purchases made through the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Agreement also applies, alongside these terms.

Cancellation & refunds

You can cancel a web subscription any time in one tap, from Settings on yuyap.com. If you cannot get back into your account, for example because you were using Yuyap without an email address and cleared your browser, email support@yuyap.com from any address and we will cancel it for you. A subscription bought in the iPhone or Android app is cancelled in the store, as described above. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. The free trial is the no-risk way to decide before you're charged. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we'll make it right, consistent with applicable law.

Talk, the AI conversation partner

Your conversation partner in Talk is an AI character, not a real person. Its replies are generated automatically and can be wrong, including about the language, so don't rely on them for anything important. Please don't share sensitive personal information in a conversation. If a reply is inappropriate, tap Report under it in the app, or tell us through Contact us in Settings or at support@yuyap.com.

Acceptable use

Please don't abuse the service, attempt to reverse-engineer or scrape it, share or resell access, or use it to break the law. We may suspend accounts that do.

Content & ownership

The course, including its scenes, scripts, art, and audio, is our intellectual property, licensed to you for personal learning, not for redistribution. Your progress data is yours.

Disclaimers & liability

Yuyap is provided “as is.” We work hard to teach language that's correct and useful, but we can't guarantee any particular learning outcome or fluency. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Governing law & changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If we make material changes, we'll update this page and the date above; continuing to use Yuyap means you accept the updated terms.
