Delete your account

Yuyap is operated by IDK Studios, Inc. You can delete your Yuyap account, and the data that goes with it, at any time. There are three ways to do it.
Three ways to delete it
- In the app. Open Settings, then choose Delete account and confirm.
- On the web. Sign in, open Settings, then choose Delete account and confirm.
- By email. Write to support@yuyap.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. If you can no longer reach that address, write anyway and tell us which address the account used.
Cancel a store subscription first
Deleting your account cancels a subscription you bought on yuyap.com. It does not cancel a subscription bought in the iPhone or Android app: Apple and Google bill those, and only you can cancel them. Cancel it in the store before you delete your account, or it will keep renewing:
- App Store subscriptions (or Settings, your name, Subscriptions, on your iPhone)
- Google Play subscriptions
What is deleted
Your account and everything linked to it, straight away and permanently: your email address and name, your onboarding answers, your progress, pronunciation scores and deck, your Talk conversation transcripts and the things your conversation partner remembered about you, your settings, and the record of emails we sent you. We never stored your voice recordings, so there are none to delete.
What is kept, and for how long
- A deletion record. Your account's internal ID, the date it was deleted, whether it had an active subscription, which store billed it, and whether we were able to cancel that billing. It holds no email, name or learning data. We keep it with no set end date, because store renewals can still arrive for an account after it is gone and we need to recognise them.
- Guest merge records. If progress you made as a guest was merged into your account, a record that links the guest's internal ID to your account's, with counts of what moved. No content, no email.
- Unsubscribes. If you unsubscribed from our marketing email, your address stays on that list so we keep honouring it.
- Records held by our providers. Product analytics events (PostHog) and in-app purchase records (RevenueCat) are not deleted automatically when you delete your account; email support@yuyap.com and we will ask for them to be deleted. Payment records kept by Stripe, Apple and Google are held under their own policies and legal obligations.
